So, the main character Ben Campbell (Jim Sturgess) is a young man from a poor family whose dream was to enter the Harvard Medical School. He got acquainted with the gang of the whiz guys from the M.I.T. who used to fly to Las Vegas on the weekends to play blackjack. The team started to practice card-counting under the command of the math professor (Kevin Spacey), the former blackjack player. The talented members of the team invented a great card-counting technique that involved interactive play. The players used different gestures and words to signal the card count and increase the winning odds. In order not to be spotted they had to use disguise. As a result the team reached great results and collected huge sums using their exclusive card-counting system. The final of the movie is not very optimistic as the team was revealed by the casino security. At last Ben lost all his savings and had to give up his profitable and funny hobby, however his dream came true – he won the scholarship to Harvard.
